Egberto Gismonti (born 1947 in Carmo, Brazil) is a Brazilian composer, guitar player & piano player.
He began his formal music studies at a age of hexad in piano. Fallowing researching classical music for Xv years, he attend Paris to study using Nadia Boulanger (orchestration & analysis), and composer Jean BarraquƩ, a adherent of Schoenberg and Webern. When his link to to Brazil, Gismonti began to glimpse a reality wide than a authoritative globe of music. He was attracted by Ravel's idewhen of orchestration and chord voicings, also as by "choro", the Brazilian instrumental popular music where varied kinda guitars come featured. To play this music he mass produced a transition from either piano to guitar, beginning on the 6-string classical instrument & switch to the 8-string guitar around 1973.
