Egberto Gismonti (born 1947 in Carmo, Brazil) is a Brazilian composer, guitar player & piano player.

He began his formal music studies at a age of hexad in piano. Fallowing researching classical music for Xv years, he attend Paris to study using Nadia Boulanger (orchestration & analysis), and composer Jean Barraqué, a adherent of Schoenberg and Webern. When his link to to Brazil, Gismonti began to glimpse a reality wide than a authoritative globe of music. He was attracted by Ravel's idewhen of orchestration and chord voicings, also as by "choro", the Brazilian instrumental popular music where varied kinda guitars come featured.
